The History of Our Pastor
A Life Transformed by Christ
Pastor Alex Maynard was raised in Commerce, Georgia, and accepted Christ at age 12 during a camp meeting in Gainesville, Georgia. He was called to preach a year later and worked in the church with youth from age 13 to age 22, then became the youth pastor at Letherwood Baptist Church in Baldwin, Georgia.
A God-Ordained Partnership
In 2015, Pastor Alex married Morgan in Georgia at Alex’s home church, and they gave birth to their son, Lance, in 2017.

Following God's leading, Pastor Alex came to Calvary Baptist Temple in Iva, SC, in August 2023 and took the position as the assistant pastor until August 2025, when God led Pastor Larry to step down and let Pastor Alex continue the pastorial position.
